Final Image

When I was given the original image of the man, my idea was to make the portrait dark and creepy. I thought a dark forest for the background would fit that idea. The original idea was expanded upon after I began working in Photoshop. When I first started working in Photoshop, the first thing I did was make a mask to remove the original background. Then I set the background to a dark forest from unsplash.com. Next, I used a second mask to put a forest onto the jacket. Then, I duplicated the man and used blending options create an effect where the man looks more pale and his hair, eyes, mouth, shadows, etc. were darker. After that, I used adjustment layers and blending modes to darken the image and change the contrast a bit. The end result looked better than I expected and fit my vision pretty well.
